Camelback  Toyota's Service Tip of the Month for December is all about protecting your  Toyota from infestations. All too often, Arizona motorists experience  diagnostic trouble codes and flashing lights, wire harness damage or strange  smells coming from somewhere in the vehicle. Believe it or not, rodents and  other critters will actually chew up wire harnesses and take wire coating to  build their nests. If you live in an area that is frequented by rodents, please  take a moment to check out your vehicle. Open the hood and look for rodent  droppings or small, black debris around your intake manifold and any "cubby"  areas in and around the engine. You can also check your filters for evidence of  an infestation by looking for the aforementioned signs. If you find evidence of  a rodent infestation, you shouldn't wait to get the problem solved ? this will  just give the rodents more time damage your vehicle. Call a local pest control  specialist or go to any home department store and ask for solutions to ridding  your garage of pests.
