Revamped Exterior
The Tacoma TRD Pro exudes fierce, rugged attitude at every angle, from its heritage-inspired grille and blacked-out hood scoop to its black overfenders and 16-inch TRD black alloy wheels. However, these aren’t the only exterior design features that give the Tacoma TRD Pro its muscular appearance—the truck is also equipped with all-terrain tires, an aluminum front skid plate, LED fog lights, projector-beam headlights with black bezels, LED Daytime Running Lights, taillights with black bezels, and exclusive badging and decals.
Interior Features
The Tacoma TRD Pro is outfitted with TRD Pro-branded headrests, exclusive floor mats, as well as black leather upholstery, heated front seats, a leather-trimmed steering wheel and a 4-way adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar support. On the technology front, the truck features a 4.2-inch driver information display, a touchscreen radio with Entune Premium Audio with Integrated Navigation and App Suite, and several active-safety features like Blind Spot Monitor and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert.
V6 Power Plant & Performance Metrics
A 3.5-liter V6 delivers a hefty 278 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque to the truck, while power is channeled to the wheels through a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic. The manual gearbox has a clutch start-cancel feature, which prevents slippage and rollback when travelling uphill.
Every aspect of the Tacoma TRD Pro is designed to maximize off-road performance. Like the TRD Off-Road, the TRD Pro is equipped with four-wheel drive with low-range gearing. An electronic locking rear differential, Multi-Terrain Select system and Crawl Control are also standard, along with the following:
- FOX 2.5-inch Internal Bypass shocks
- TRD-tuned front springs with a 1-inch lift
- TRD-tuned rear suspension with progressive-rate leaf springs
- Tow Package with an automatic transmission fluid cooler, engine oil cooler, power steering cooler, receiver hitch, trailer sway control
