In 2020, Toyota simply says that the Corolla is "greater than ever." With outstanding reliability ratings, impressive fuel economy, and updates to its design inside and out, customers should believe the automaker that this year's version really is the best yet. The 2020 model year starts the 12th generation of the Corolla, and it brings many new (and positive) changes. The latest Corolla features a better interior that has more space and a suite of refreshed features for the latest model year. As can probably be expected, there are more safety amenities to note this year, too. The 2020 Corolla is also comfortable to drive, and it has a snazzier style than before that appeals to a broader audience.
The 2020 Corolla is available in seven trim levels, including a hybrid variation. The base model is called the "L." Even at this level, you'll find a comfortable and well-equipped vehicle. Notable features on the L include Toyota's world-class Safety Sense technology package. It also has bold exterior features like LED headlights, a black front grille, and a sporty mesh insert. Inside you'll find iPhone capability, Apple CarPlay compatibility, and Amazon Alexa connectivity. A backup camera is also standard.
The LE, which is the next trim level, upgrades to an eight-inch touchscreen, automatic climate control, an optional sunroof, and available climate control. Remote start is standard, and you can add on extra safety features. The LE is also offered in a hybrid edition that gets better gas mileage and adds LED tail lights.
The SE, which comes with a standard or automatic transmission, has a gray front grille, LED accent lights, side rocker panels, and 18-inch wheels. It also has a premium JBL sound system and multiple driving modes. Sporty seats are also part of the package.
The XLE adds a power-operated moonroof, heated front seats, and a seven-inch driver information display screen. The premium edition is the XSE, which has adaptive front lighting, gray metallic accents, sporty heated front seats, and a sliding sunshade that accompanies the moonroof. A premium audio system is available.
There are two engines available in the 2020 Toyota Corolla. The base engine is a 1.8L with four cylinders. This engine is paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission. The second engine is a 2.0L with four cylinders. This engine has a maximum power output of 169 HP at 6,600 RPM. It also has an automatic transmission. Paddle shifters add an element of driving excitement. A sport mode is available with the 2020 Corolla to improve your driving experience and make the car accelerate faster.
As one would expect from Toyota, there is plenty of safety to note in the Corolla. This starts with eight airbags throughout the cabin. The vehicle also comes with a STAR safety system that has features like vehicle stability control, traction control, automatic emergency braking, and braking assist. There are plenty of driver-assist features too, such as lane departure warning and lane-keep assist. Child safety locks and traction control are other safety amenities.
