For drivers looking to get into a great pickup truck from Toyota, the 2018 Toyota Tundra and 2018 Toyota Tacoma offer drivers great features to find the truck that is right for them. While both trucks offer great features like four-wheel drive, powerful towing capacity and great interior convenience features, they do differ greatly as well in sheer size and power.

Beginning with the powerfully full-sized 2018 Toyota Tundra, owners have the option of two different engines in the truck. The larger is the i-Force 5.7-liter V8 engine that pushes out 381 horsepower and 401 lb.-ft. of torque. This V8 gives owners up to a 10,100 pounds towing capacity, making it able to tow just about any load possible. The smaller engine in the Tundra is the i-Force 4.6-liter V8 engine that kicks out 310 horsepower and 327 lb.-ft. of torque. This engine is capable of 6,800 pounds of towing capacity.

The Tacoma line of pickup trucks all come standard with a 3.5-liter V6 engine that is capable of 278 horsepower and 265 lb.-ft. of torque. The Tacoma line of pickups has a maximum towing capacity of 6,400 pounds with this brave engine.

Appearance

On the exterior, both the 2018 Tundra and Tacoma shine in their beauty. Being the full-sized pickup in the lineup, the Tundra is the larger of the two trucks with a standard 6.5-foot bed with the crew cab model coming with a 5.5-foot short bed. The dimensions of the Tundra sit at 76-inches high, just under 80-inches wide and an overall length of 228.9-inches with a wheelbase of 145.7-inches. On the outside, the Tundra features available LED headlights, fog lights, LED daytime running lamps and optional running boards in each model. The Tundra can be purchased in regular, double and crew cab models in the 2-wheel and 4-wheel drive models.

On the Tacoma, the truck sits at 70.6-inches high, 75-inches wide with an overall length of 212.3-inches and a wheelbase of 127.4-inches. The standard bed length on the Tacoma trucks is five feet. The Tacoma also has available LED headlights and daytime running lamps. Both the 2018 Tundra and Tacoma feature the Toyota Racing Development (TRD) sport styling package on the exterior. On the Tundra, this package includes a black accented finish, hood scoop, 20-inch alloy wheels, honeycomb grille and a sport suspension. On the Tacoma, the TRD package includes an undercarriage skid plate for off-roading, custom exhaust, LED fog lights and FOX Racing shocks.

Features

Both trucks are loaded with great Toyota features. The Tundra comes standard with a backup camera, an available Entune App Suite with Navigation for smartphone connectivity, rear seat storage and available front bucket seats with a center storage console.It is loaded with Toyota Safety Sense giving drivers a pre-collision system, lane departure alert, automatic high beams and radar cruise control. An available blind spot monitor and standard eight interior airbags make this one safe truck.
