What's New for the 2021 Toyota Avalon?
The 2021 Toyota Avalon gets some additional improvements that make it even better this year. Now you can give your Avalon a distinguished look through high-performance tires available on select trim levels, including the Nightshade Edition and the TRD trims. Android Auto is now standard to make the Avalon more tech-savvy than before, and you can get all-wheel drive on certain trims. The Avalon is also offered as a hybrid vehicle. The 2021 Toyota Avalon Hybrid, a top-ranked hybrid vehicle, gets a new battery pack in 2021, and it also gets Android Auto.
2021 Avalon Trims and Features
There are five trim levels of the Toyota Avalon and three in the Hybrid. The base trim of both is the XLE. Full LED lights are standard on the XLE. It also has 17-inch alloy wheels. The interior includes:
- Heated seats
- A nine-inch infotainment screen that now has Android Auto in addition to Apple CarPlay and Amazon Alexa
- A sound system with eight speakers
Simulated leather seats are included. The XSE that comes next in the regular and hybrid Avalon has a dark exterior. You'll get wireless charging and a sunroof with the hybrid XSE. You can also get a Limited trim with chrome wheels, adaptive lights, and a heated steering wheel in both models. The Limited also has wood trim accents for a more upscale interior. The regular Avalon adds a Touring trim that has a black rear spoiler, aluminum interior accents, black 19-inch wheels, and simulated leather seats, along with a TRD trim that has a black roof, a performance exhaust system, and a sport suspension system.
2021 Toyota Avalon Horsepower
Front-wheel drive is the standard drivetrain for the 2021 Avalon. It is powered by one of two engines, a standard four-cylinder 2.5L engine that produces 205 HP or a more powerful 3.5L V6 that delivers 301 HP. The second engine is offered on the top trim levels. The Avalon Hybrid has a combined gasoline engine and an electric motor that produces 215 HP. All-wheel drive is an available drivetrain, while front-wheel drive is standard.

The Toyota Avalon comes with numerous safety aids that include blind-spot monitoring, lane departure alert with lane centering, collision mitigation, and adaptive cruise control. Parking sensors and a surround-view camera are available.
