Image: Toyota's Way Forward Fund Announces Grants to Help Support Access to Care

Through its Way Forward Fund (WFF), Toyota is aiming to make the lives of children with traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) easier. Primarily, they aim to provide funds to ensure that they get the care needed to better diagnose and deal with the short and long-term impacts of these injuries.

More Than $4 Million Distributed

The recent release of funds was the fifth round of grant money distributed by the WFF. The goal with the most recent distribution was to provide access to communities in Michigan, Texas, and elsewhere that had the highest need. With the funds, families will be able to give their children the level of care that they need in a timely and accessible manner.

Toyota Makes a Commitment to Mobility

As a car company, Toyota feels that everyone should be able to get to where they are going. This is why they have poured so much money into ensuring that children get the timely care that they need to improve their quality of life. Generally speaking, the longer a TBI goes untreated or undiagnosed, the more crippling its impact can be. In some cases, it can lead to learning disabilities, developmental disabilities, or others that make it harder to thrive in childhood and beyond.

Sustainability Matters Too

Toyota also sees sustainability as a major part of its brand ethos. By investing in care for children with TBIs, they can create sustainable networks that can provide care today and in the future. In addition to treating those who have TBIs, access to healthcare in general can result in stronger and more productive communities today and in the long run.
