Toyota Prius Review for 2016 Model Year
Our favorite hybrid returns with a full redesign that's got critics buzzing. Any 2016 Toyota Prius review you read will likely have many positive things to say about the next-generation model's new updates. And, along with the original liftback model's overhaul, other Prius models also gain some new updates this year, as well.
Starting with the fully redesigned liftback, changes are comprehensive. When you see the new 2016 Toyota Prius in Phoenix the first thing you'll notice is its super sporty new look. Deep body-side creases, sharper headlight and taillight designs, a more defined hood and a steeply raked windshield all give the hatchback a more athletic presence. The car also shows off a new paint color this year, Hypersonic Red, which accentuates its bolder exterior design.
In addition, the Prius shows off a completely revised drive system, which is now composed of smaller and lighter weight parts that help contribute to greater fuel economy, something that's always a bonus for green car shoppers. Performance has also be ramped up with improved handling, which is the result of the car's new TNGA platform and its lower center of gravity, multilink rear suspension and firmer overall structure.
The Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) package is also available on the 2016 Toyota Prius in Phoenix. The package debuts this year on several Toyota models, including the Prius c, and it comes with Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Full-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Automatic High Beams and other driver-assist technologies.
On the Prius c, shoppers can also check out a new two-tone Persona Series Special Edition that turns heads with its attractive color combinations. The Persona Series Special Edition is limited to 1,500 units, so make your orders sooner than later if you want one.
Other models you won't want to miss checking out include the Prius Plug-in Hybrid and Prius v wagon, each of which add their own unique personality to the Prius family. On a final note, the v, plug-in and every other model in the lineup feature upgraded Entune audio systems this year.
