What's New for the 2019 Toyota Highlander?

Over the years, the Toyota Highlander has gotten bigger and more attractive. The 2019 edition is no different. This year, passengers have more room than ever to relax and ride comfortably in the spacious cabin, which can seat up to eight occupants across three rows. New wheels, fog lamps, and black-accented headlights and taillights on select trims are new and noteworthy changes for the latest Highlander.

Additionally, the vehicles in this model year have more chrome accents, and there are more trim levels to choose from. Depending on the trim level you get, you can choose to get a car that runs on standard gasoline or get a hybrid instead. Inside, everyone can stay connected in the Highlander with up to five USB ports throughout the cabin.

Which Trims are Available for 2019?

In 2019, you have eight trim levels of the Toyota Highlander to choose from. The base model is called the LE. It features a premier audio system with hands-free connectivity. The split-folding design in the rear seats makes room for passengers or cargo as needed. A backup camera comes standard, and multiple USB ports keep everyone's devices connected. Progressing to the LE Plus, the list of standard amenities significantly expands. With this trim, you'll get a power-operated liftgate, a three-zone climate control, and a more sophisticated interior with leather-trimmed seats and a leather-trimmed steering wheel.

An integrated backup camera is also standard. In addition to these standard features, the third-level XLE extends the leather seats to the second row. The infotainment system is upgraded in this trim level with a premium audio system, navigation, and app connectivity. A power-operated moonroof is standard in the XLE. Moving up, the SE gets premium 19-inch wheels with a signature black finish. It also has highly visible LED lights and a sporty suspension system. The Limited trim gets chrome-accented wheels and optional captain's chairs in the second row, which frees up more space in the interior and gives the Highlander room for seven.

Heated and ventilated front seats are standard on this trim level for year-round passenger comfort. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are this trim's standard safety features. With the LE, you'll get a standard backup camera, a premier audio system, and five standard USB ports. The XLE adds a standard moonroof and a multi-information driver display screen. Finally, the top-level Limited gets chrome-accented wheels, a premier audio system, and split-folding seats with captain's chairs in the second row.
